💧World Water Day is an annual United Nations observance day celebrated on 22 March to raise awareness and inspire action to tackle the water and sanitation crisis. The theme for World Water Day 2023 is Accelerating Change which is about accelerating change to solve water crisis.
Below are three ways we can support and take action as an individual:
1. Practice responsible use of water🚰
During our day-to-day routine, we sometimes unintentionally use more water than we need to, so being mindful of water usage helps us identify ways to reduce wastage.
Some suggestions to reduce daily water use include:
🪥 Turning off the water while brushing your teeth
🪒 Turning off the water when shaving
🚿 Taking shorter showers
🚽 Using half flush on the toilet when possible
🔧 Regularly check your toilet for leaks and fix it
2. Raise awareness on social media📱
Social media is a great way to raise awareness. We can share relevant news, facts, videos, and stories on our social media channels to let our network know about the importance of sustainable water use and how we can support the movement.
3. Donate to help those without access to clean water💰
Did you know 1 in 4 people globally do not have access to clean and safe drinking water? We can help people gain access to clean water by donating to leading organisations, support their sustainable development of water projects.
This year, AmSTRONG is the Blue Partner of A Drop of Life, a Hong Kong-registered charity who takes the lead to implement sustainable water projects and build water facilities in Cambodia, China, Myanmar, Napal and other developing countries. They’ve built over 70,000 water projects which have benefited more than 5,000,000 people. We are participating in their “Shop For Water” Charity Sale. From 22/3-23/4, we will be donating 5% of the AmSTRONG Blue-colored Products sales to the charity to help support the coming water projects - bring clean water to more people.
